INTRODUCING THE CADETS 2021 DRUM MAJORS

The Cadets are excited to announce that four strong young women will lead the corps through the 2020 season. Loren Gregory will continue as lead conductor for The Cadets and will be assisted by Cat Yang and Molly Sobieski, with Mallory Shirey serving as conductor.

Loren Gregory is entering her third season as drum major and her second season as lead conductor at The Cadets. She attends the University of Houston-Clear Lake where she studies general business. Loren is a staff member at Silent Command, a leadership and conducting training company. Outside of drum corps, Loren is a visual and drum major tech at Dickinson High School and Friendswood High School in the Houston area. She is so excited to work with this amazing team of leaders!

Cat Yang is currently a senior at Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas. This will be her rookie year as a drum major in a drum corps and she is incredibly excited to be a part of such a historic group. She plays the alto saxophone and is planning to major in Music Education. She hopes to someday become a high school band director in the great state of Texas. She is looking forward to meeting new people, learning from the amazing staff members, and creating life-long memories through her time at The Cadets.

Molly Sobieski is headed into her second season of drum corps and first as a drum major for The Cadets. She marched as a field conductor for Legends in the 2019 season. She has also been a member of Rhythm X’s visual ensemble since 2019. She graduated from Floyd Central High School and currently attends the University of Louisville. Outside of drum corps and school, she is a visual tech at Scottsburg High School and North Harrison High School in southern Indiana. She is beyond excited to get the season underway with the Cadets and to learn from some of the best educators in the activity.

Mallory Shirey is excited to experience her first year in drum corps with The Cadets as a conductor. She is a junior at Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton, Florida, where she is drum major of the marching band. She plays flute, french horn, and trumpet, and marched indoor with Horizon Winds on mellophone. Mallory plans to major in geometrics, and enjoys spending her free time with her dogs.
